Len as groovy sixties hipster....

"The one man band was put together from bits from my fathers drumkit. A bass drum from a second hand store and various 'new bits' invented to do specific things.. For example the bass drum beater is made up from a bottle of spirit decanter than was thrown into the rubbish bin behind a bar. " Len Fifield

The Platters thought the act was great when Len opened for them in the early 1970s. The one man band act always created lots of interest with audiences but the pull of the electric organ and keyboard was too great. Various line-ups with a variety of good venues ensured that Len was always busy. Predominately doing covers he worked in one hotel for ten years, six nights a week! During that time there was also TV work and lots of recording. "One of the best shows, Len recalls, was opening for the Manhattan Transfer. "

Now Len writes music all the time using the keyboard and guitar to record them and then puts together CD albums. If the song has a lyric it is often funny with a clear message. His instrumental music usually follows a theme right through the CD . . .
